A competitor Tesla "steals" the charge from other electric cars »GoGetNews news

Electric cars are the most environmentally friendly means of transport, but two things prevent them from conquering public roads: the cost of the battery and the low battery autonomy. While Ilon Musk has not figured out how to reduce the cost of batteries, a competitor in the face of the pickup truck Rivian R1T has already solved the second problem with a low battery charge in the original way.

The head of the company, Robert Scarring, gave an interview to The Drive, in which he spoke about the features of a pickup with an electric motor. According to him, the owners of electro-pickup will be fully protected from situations where the battery may suddenly discharge.

According to the engineers, cars like the Rivian R1T will “steal” the charge from other electric vehicles. Although experts interpret it differently – this is a “helping hand” for those drivers who have no charge left to reach the nearest recharging station, and the vehicle will be able to power the battery to another electric vehicle in an emergency.

Also, to protect owners from embarrassing situations on the roads and increase the range of travel, the company added the ability to install additional batteries in the luggage compartments under the hood of the car.

The electric car Rivian R1T was introduced in 2018 and will soon be ready to be put into mass production. Although Ilon Mask has already managed to call the electric pickups of competitors "children's toys."
