Apple refuses to produce AirPower wireless charging

Apple has announced that it will not release the previously announced wireless charging of AirPower due to “non-compliance with high standards.”A few days after the presentation of the Apple TV Plus streaming video service, Apple representatives said they would not produce the AirPower wireless charger, which they announced a couple of years ago.

According to Mashable, for Apple, where they plan to manufacture any new device over the years, this is absolutely unprecedented.

Wireless charging was first announced at the presentation of the iPhone X in 2017, and it was expected that the product will appear on the market in the near future.

The company even announced the second generation of AirPods wireless headphones, which should have been recharged from AirPower. Apple opened a pre-order for a wireless case for charging headphones for $ 79.

AirPower was supposed to charge the iPhone smartphone, AirPods headphones and Apple Watch smart watches, but the production of wireless charging was postponed indefinitely.

Apple representatives wrote only that “AirPower does not meet their high standards.” Probably, manufacturers faced difficulties in development, but it is not known why the accessory release was canceled.
