BMW has begun mass production of the third-generation hatchback 1-Series, which premiered in late May. The novelty got on the assembly line of the enterprise in Leipzig, where cars of two previous generations were produced. It is expected that in the next few months, BMW will produce up to 600 cars daily.

The very first "edinichkoy" collected in Leipzig, became a blue hatchback with an index of 118i, which will be sent to a client in Italy. This car is equipped with a 1.5-liter three-cylinder turbo engine with a return of 140 hp. and 220 Nm of torque.

The top model at the time of launch is the M135i xDrive, under the bonnet of which there is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder pressurized unit with a power of 306 horsepower and 450 N · m of torque. This is the most powerful serial "four" in the history of BMW cars. The engine is paired with an 8-step "automatic" and all-wheel drive system. BMW M135i xDrive can accelerate from place to the first "hundred" in 4.8 seconds, and its maximum speed is forcibly limited at around 250 km per hour.

According to preliminary data, in the future, the BMW 1-Series will receive an extreme version with a motor power of about 400 horsepower. Such a car will be able to compete with the Mercedes-AMG A45.
