Citroen is heading for affordable electric cars | GoGetNews News

Like all key global automakers, Citroen is slowly converting the lineup to electric traction – by 2025, all models of the French brand should have an alternative with an electric motor. Some details about this were told by the head of the company Linda Jackson in an interview with Automotive News Europe.

According to her, each new Citroen will receive a hybrid or purely electric modification. Thus, the French intend to bring to the market more traditional, familiar and mass models with an electric motor than the previously presented exotic C-Zéro or e-Méhari.

Linda also announced that the next clean double chevron electric car will replace the Citroen C4 Cactus in 2020. It is not yet clear whether this will be the second generation C4 Cactus or the new C4.

For the new items, a PSA modular platform called CMP will be used, which underlies the new Peugeot 208 and 2008, Opel Corsa and DS 3 Crossback, in a variation of e-CMP. The future electric C4 will certainly receive a 136-horsepower electric motor and a battery capacity of 50 kWh, the range will be about 350 kilometers.
