A report on a study by Chinese experts was published by Food.news. Scientists have stated that simple white cabbage, as well as cauliflower and broccoli, have significant potential for combating cancerous growths.
The attention of specialists, in particular, was attracted by such an ingredient of cabbage as sulforaphane (SFN). This organic compound is found in cruciferous vegetables, to which different types of cabbage belong. According to the researchers, sulforaphane has every chance of becoming a new anti-cancer agent.

“Sulforaphane causes changes in the morphology of cancer cells and reduces their viability. For example, it inhibits the activity of dangerous cells like HCT 116. These morphological changes were recorded using a phase contrast microscope, ”said Chinese experts.
The data obtained by them suggests that the substance contained in cabbage is able to exert a medicinal effect against cancer cells of the colon, which die under its influence.
