The resolution against Russia's participation in the G7 summit was adopted by the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives of the US Congress.

Congressman Albio Syreis introduced the initiative for voting. The document states that Russia must not be allowed to participate in the G7 until it "respects the territorial integrity of its neighbors and adheres to the standards of democratic societies."

"Since 2014, after Russia stopped participating in the G7 amid the conflict in southeastern Ukraine, none of the conditions for its return has been met," said Syreis.
