Facebook plans to pay users for viewing cryptocurrency ads

The social network Facebook is seriously thinking about starting to pay its users for viewing ads. It is reported by The Wall Street Journal, citing its sources.

Curiously, the payments are planned to be made in their own cryptocurrency, which Facebook wants to develop in conjunction with a large payment system. Negotiations are underway with Visa and Mastercard. Most likely, it will be steyblecoin, the course of which will be tightly tied to the US dollar. This will minimize the volatility of the digital currency. Facebook plans to spend on its creation about $ 1 billion.

As for rewards, users will receive cryptocurrency for their activity: viewing ads, interacting with content or making purchases through the Facebook platform. It will be something like a loyalty program, but instead of bonus points there will be crypto-coins of the social network.

The representative of the blockchain division of Facebook declined to comment on this information and recalled the company's past statement.
