Honda will present an extreme version of the NSX supercar with a Type R nameplate at the Tokyo Motor Show, which will be held in October this year. According to preliminary data, such a car will become more powerful and will get an aerodynamic “tail” adapted for the road car from the racing NSX GT3.

According to the Forbes publication, the Sport Hybrid SH-AWD hybrid power plant will increase output from the current 581 hp. (644 Nm of the moment) to 659 horsepower. It includes a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 unit and three upgraded electric motors with a rewritten control program.

The NSX Type R is expected to get a tougher suspension, as well as aerodynamic elements that were successfully tested on the GT3 racing variant.
