NATO named the main security threats following the meeting in London, which was held on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the alliance. So, in a joint declaration of NATO members of December 4, two threats are identified – these are Russia's aggressive activities and international terrorism.

“We face various threats and challenges from all strategic directions. Russia's aggressive actions pose a threat to Euro-Atlantic security; terrorism in all its forms and manifestations remains a constant threat to all of us. State and non-state actors dispute rule-based international order. Instability beyond our borders also contributes to illegal migration. We are facing cyber and hybrid threats, "the declaration said.
