Huawei registered the Harmony trademark with EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office) with the description: mobile operating systems; computer operating systems; Downloadable operating system software. Also the second name appears – HongMeng. It is likely that for the Chinese market the mobile OS will be called HongMeng, and in Europe – Harmony.

The new operating system will be available on some smartphones by the end of 2019 in China, said Huawei CEO Yu Chengdong in an interview with the French magazine Le Point. A global launch could occur in the first quarter of 2020.
However, experts suggest that Huawei may refuse to release Harmony for Europe and the United States, leaving it only for the Chinese domestic market. The fact is that in early July, US President Donald Trump eased sanctions against Huawei, which allowed companies to lift the restrictions for Huawei, introduced earlier.
