Scientists fed mice fatty foods. Monitoring their state of health showed that testosterone levels decreased in male mice, and vice versa in females, they did not feel any hormonal changes, Frontiers in Immunology writes.
Scientists believe that female rodents have increased protection, which is based on ovarian estrogen. The experts concluded that women have greater protection from the negatively affecting hazards that are caused by obesity, which is not the case with men.
Scientists attribute this to the fact that in women fats accumulate on the thighs and buttocks, in men the waist and stomach are affected. At the same time, experts noted that the female “pear” type of figure is the safest than all the others.
