This happened in 1997. The Wheatley family was returning home from church. The eight-year-old Landon was sitting in the back seat. At the intersection, the boy's father, Andy, suddenly shouted. The next moment, an ambulance crashed into the family car.
“I didn’t see the ambulance, but I remember how my husband screamed. It was the last thing I heard from him "
– Landon's mother Julie Kemp, who was driving, said in an interview with CBN.
Andy died instantly, Julie was injured, but later her condition stabilized.
The rescuers did not know that there was a child in the car until his shoes were noticed. They managed to pull an 8-year-old boy out of a broken car.
Landon was found without signs of life, but he was given first aid and was able to start his heart.
On the way to the Karolina Medical Center, the child stopped breathing and was reanimated again. For the third time, clinical death occurred when he was already taken to hospital.
Although Landon managed to bring life back three times, doctors were not optimistic. They warned Julie that even if the child survived, "he will not be able to walk, talk or eat because of brain damage."
Landon had an extensive head injury and was in a deep coma.
Two weeks later, the boy woke up. To everyone's surprise, his brain was not injured. It seemed like a miracle.
Even more unbelievable were the words of the child when the mother spoke about the death of the father.
“Do you know where your dad is?” Julie’s son asked softly.
“Yes, I know where he is. I saw him in heaven, ”Landon suddenly said.
The son said that he saw there “golden streets”, Jesus and angels. In addition, he met his father's friend Olan Palmer and his son Neal. Both died in a car accident a few years ago.
“I remember how we all stood in the square. None of us said a word to each other, we just stood there, "
– recalled an adult Landon years later.
Then he suddenly told his mother:
"I saw your two children."
"My mother had two miscarriages before me that I had never heard of,"
– Landon said in an interview with Fox News.
“I knew that they were my brother and sister, although no one had ever told me about them. Just in heaven you know everything, ”he added.
This incredible story is a “huge blessing” for Julie. This gave her strength, and Landon – the ability to "use this story to help others not to give up."
“There is paradise, there are angels,” says Landon. “When you know this, life becomes easier.”
Mother and son together wrote the book "The Road to Heaven", which tells about Landon's stay in the sky and what a wonderful place it is. They hope the book will help comfort children who have lost their loved ones.
