The United States threatened to shoot down Iranian drones while approaching US ships

The United States will shoot down Iranian drones if they fly too close to American ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

This was reported to Reuters by a senior US Presidential Administration official, Donald Trump.

“If they fly too close to our ships, they will be shot down,” said a Trump administration official.

According to the official, Washington has "convincing evidence" that the amphibious assault ship USS Boxer shot down an Iranian drone. He added that the Pentagon may publish a video of the incident.

Recall that US President Donald Trump said that the US Navy ship shot down an Iranian unmanned aerial vehicle over the Strait of Hormuz.

The Pentagon said that the incident occurred on July 18, when the ship USS Boxer was in international waters and was conducting a planned entrance transit through the Strait of Hormuz.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry responded that Iranian forces did not lose any UAVs in the Strait of Hormuz or anywhere else.
