The US Embassy in Ukraine criticized the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the occupied Crimea.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is right: recent trips by Russian officials to the occupied Crimea are an unacceptable violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine," the US Foreign Ministry said.

They added that Washington is opposed to Russian aggression.

Recall, on August 10, Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the occupied Crimea, where he took part in the international bike show Shadow of Babylon on a Ural motorcycle.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has protested over the arrival of the head of the Russian Federation on the peninsula.

They emphasized that attempts by the Russian side and the Russian media to interpret such “visits” as “ordinary” domestic trips by Russian officials are void.

March 16 marks five years since the illegal holding of the so-called “referendum” in Crimea, which was held under pressure from Russian military personnel without identification marks.
